I know the title of a thread should give some indication of what the topic is.
I'm referring to radio station bumper stickers in the year 2024. I think they have gone the way of the 8-track tape and the laser disc.
I rarely see a bumper sticker for any Chicago radio station these days.
Let me put it another way; I don't think anyone under 40 years old would even bother. The stakes would have to be pretty high.
As I mentioned in another thread, perhaps a contest.
Please allow me to veer off for a minute. I have heard of people who spend a great deal of time entering radio station contests. When the prize is cash and they win, it's off to the next station who is doing the same.
In a sense, it's almost like the radio station is paying for listener loyalty.
During the Z95 and B96 radio wars, I was amused when Z95 said they will do the listening of B96 and alert the Z95 audience when to call in and win. I miss those days of fierce competition.
I sometimes wonder what Z95 would sound like today is they were around. A bad crop of CHR music may push a station to rely on their older music library. Maybe a Hot AC format? We'll never know.

Years ago, then 1340 W-RIT Milwaukee, during Terrell Metheney's run (Late 1969-May 1970) WRIT would announce their "Silver Dollar Jackpot", WOKY's "Double Cash" total, "so you don't have to listen or have two radios on." Good Times!
Also, I miss the weekly record charts. (Top 30 or Top 40 weekly charts)
John, Z95 when they were going through their "hell" phase would also tell the listeners (not verbatim) Hey we are playing music, B96 are playing commercials again. Don't believe us? Go check, we will wait for you. (pause for bit) See we told you. Hell 947!
B96 got wise, When 94.7 would do it, they would stop the commercials dead cold and play a song. LOL. Ended it fairly quickly.
The good ol days of competition. When companies did not own 5+ stations in a market and they were driven by 25 minute stopsets an hour along with being rockless, VT or "national" voices.
The "charts" are also a thing of the past thanks to the "nationalization" of song titles. The days of local hits are LOOOOOOOONG gone!

LIVE was live! Competition made you better! Charts? I'd always look at song XYZ than moved 17-14 on Stn A and 16-19 on Stn B. Was actually at a record store when WMYX (99.1 Milwaukee) had called and asked for their Top 10 in sales.
What I'll look at is how one group deems a song a hit and they turn out to be bombs! I look at charts weekly and sadly, several groups, play the same songs at basically the same times, only with different liners.
I've gone days/weeks without listening, of late. "our app" "our socials" and of course the "excited cue card" reading. And too, one jock is on how many stations, voice-tracked.
---------------------------------------------- ASIDE: Was listening to a station up here (Upper MI) and Infinity Sports Network had 5 mins of commercials, came back to plug phone 3, and 6 MORE minutes of commercials. So, 12 minutes wasted. "We're taking calls the rest of the hour" (at :40) and idiot who was on hold (as he said) "most of the show." Too, they still play "CBS Sports Radio jingle. PATHETIC! -----------------------------------------------
I tuned out of the Great Z100 NY in the early to mid 2k's, when I heard them go into the TOH jingle, preceded and followed by commercials. Stop the commercials to play the produced TOH jingle. I knew right then and there, radio was ******. As good as playing the same commercial 3x in the same 10 minute stop set. Or 3 car dealer commercials in the same 10 minute stop set. Winning formula people! 👍
