102.3 Text RDS

Tuning around last Friday on my way home from work I stumbled on to 102.3 with the Dave Ramsey show. Instantly the RDS text showed up on the radio that was a message to someone named JB. I only know one JB and that is our governor. Because this is a family friendly board I can only say the text suggested that the messenger be JB's lunch.

Is the message to him or am I reading too much into it?!

Matt has 0 cred in the radio industry. He is super far right & always failed candidate for local office. Actions like these = 0 cred. Never allow your personal feelings to interfere with business.

I think anyone who programs the RDS/RBDS text with words that people wouldn’t want their children to see, or have to explain, is too immature to be allowed that responsibility. Whether that’s Matt or someone else at the station (not sure if there even is anyone else there), he needs to act like a mature adult and clean it up. I wonder, does the FCC interpret obscene or vulgar language via radio text similarly to audio content? One or two photos of a radio display might be admissible in a complaint filing.

I'm not trying to start any rumors of a radio return.
The following is pure speculation.

Is it possible that message was not directed toward the Governor but another JB?
I'm assuming from the clue that ilgrant gave that the message was, either "E@t ME JB" or "JB E@t ME"
Both of which were part of Johnathan Brandmeier's
schtick on his showgram. I believe "E@t ME JB" was part of the vanity phone number used to call into his show.
Like I said pure speculation....

Phil- The text displayed is a gray area. We think it means one thing when it could mean something totally different. Idrawupay has a different interpretation on what the message means. So a complaint to the FCC will most likely yield 0 results.
