They are granted a sweet BKP deal and are now douching their work staff. POS executives. Nothing good to say about any of them.

Keith Johnson, who had anchored afternoon drive on WBBM Newsradio 780 AM/WCFS 105.9 FM, is among the latest round of layoffs.

AnnMarie Welser, a Social Media & Community Editor at WBBM/WCFS, confirmed on X/Twitter yesterday that she's also among those who were sent packing. WBBM/WCFS eliminated 5 of the 8 digital news employees.

WBBM/WCFS & WTIC-AM in Hartford were among the all-news stations hit by the latest round of layoffs at Audacy, which reportedly issued 100 such cutbacks or 2% of its staff. This as Audacy is trying to emerge from bankruptcy protection earlier this year.

Cut some more, to support loser stations like WBBM-FM Chicago, WXBK New York and KRBQ San Fran. SMH.

I never listen to Newsradio. I tune in to WBEZ for news. I have had people say it is "boring". Yes it totally is, because it truly is not slanted or sensational. I am pissed they have cut down local programming to a few hours a day & some of their niche programming is not for me either. No wonder people use their phones as a 3rd appendage these days for news consumption.

I have it on overnights - waking up early as they go live after 4:30AM. (Pre-Covid, was 24/7 live)

Too, I listen on the way up North. I think I like the fast-paced traffic reports. Time checks, etc.

Was never in radio, but saw my dad lose his job after years. The Top Six A--holes got $600k each for wrecking a good business. That was good money in 1986.
