This is why radio is in the shitter. 2nd or 3rd rate. Even syndicated shows are not given a chance on a Sunday night.
I was talking to a friend an hour ago. Everyone laments 70s were ignored by radio. The 80s played the same 100 titles. The 90s if not hop hop or Alt or Lilith, doesn't exist. The sad part is, those "80s station failures" might not have been failures if they actually had Friday night "AOR" spin back, Saturday night "dance parties" (hot mixes) like the 80s. Or a Sunday day "New Wave" flashback. "Quiet 80s Storm", not Urban based, but actually 80 - 89 AC titles from Pop, Rock, Urban, Freestyle, Dance, Country, that receive little to no airplay. -- The weekend programming set the tone for the week. All 7 days are the same ol shit, day in, day out, VT, safe tested, shit.
I just returned from Milwaukee and the surrounding counties. Their radio is one notch better than Chicago simply because they better utilize translators and WJMR had a Chicago personality doing flashback House hot mixes, but overall massively lacking than it was pre-covid. Shit. I am sorry, no other word wraps it up.

Re: "Could The King Biscuit Flower Hour Survive Today?"
Speaking of King Biscuit Flower Hour, I really miss Rockline. The live call-in radio show.
If an artist or band was someone I didn't like, I skipped it. Most of the time, it was a great listen.
I often wonder what happens to the live concerts recorded over the years when a radio station is sold or changes formats.
This reminds me of record libraries back in the day before everything went digital. A station would change formats and sometimes the library wouldn't always wind up in a dumpster. College stations would benefit or DJs and others with sticky fingers as well.
Re: "Could The King Biscuit Flower Hour Survive Today?"
There was a concert that I recorded on the radio quite a long time ago. Imagine my surprise when I found it at Wolfgangs vault website. Maybe what you are looking for is there. They have some King Biscuit stuff there, too. (I'm a happy customer of theirs. Nothing more.)
