Chicago NYE shows go from bad to worse - again! lol
cbs 2 - live from nashville
nbc 5 - a very chicago new year (copyright said 2022?)
abc 7 - countdown chicago (copyright said 2020?)
wgn 9 - wgn-tv at 75 (?!)
fox 32 - new years now (that's all it says so idk - and copyright said 2022?)

From a local standpoint, there were just 2 choices for live, local New Year's Eve programming. The ones on NBC 5 & ABC 7 in particular. Someone I know on Twitter (X) was tweeting that ABC News Live, the network's 24/7 digital news channel, carried the ABC 7 feed.

I know that ABC 7's Terrell Brown & Chief Meteorologist Cheryl Scott have started their "Countdown Chicago" show with a dance number the last couple of years. It's not the same anymore since entertainment reporter Janet Davies & sports anchor Mark Giangreco left the station a couple years ago, too.

Janet and Mark's schtick wore out its welcome years before it was officially finished. My pet peeve is the delay in playing "Auld Lang Syne" as background to the fireworks display. The changing of the year should not be accompanied by some lame rock/rap song! And no, I am not "old!"
