It's the only AM that Shaw Media owns in the market, there are problems with the antenna system and they have already applied to change the originating signal for the 98.5 translator to WYYS-HD2. Pretty unlikely that 1250 will be back.

JJSPC1972 - I do not doubt you at all. But is WYYS-HD2 on the air right now or are they firing it up soon? Last time I was in Peru, I do not remember any stations running HD. There are no traces of HD anywhere for WYYS. - Thanks

Z, the Streator 1250 is directional away from me so I can't hear it over the air, but they are mentioning WYYS HD2 in the legal ID on the stream. That's all I can verify unfortunately other than the posted FCC filings for WSPL and W253BX.

Awesome. Thanks I appreciate it. They must have (or are) investing for the HD1/HD2 to turn off the AM. Seriously, from a money viewpoint, it is a good tradeoff considering cost factors.

For sure. Absolutely no return on investment repairing a 500 day/64 watt night two tower directional AM. Or as we have all said, the majority of all AM's in 2023.

John were you able to hear this in WI? Pretty puny signal but I imagine with some effort could travel far enough North.

It should clear up any interference with WSSP. WGL tends to really be WSSP's biggest interference problem here.

That said nobody listens to WSSP anymore.

Last night, "WYYS-HD2 Streator" was noted, tho "WSPL" the rest of the hour.,....

Too, in my DECADES of DX'ing AM, have never logged WSPL-WIZZ! Guess I never will.
