Richard Orlando Biondi, 90, of Chicago, died peacefully at home on Monday June 26th.
Dick was born September 13, 1932 in Endicott, New York, to Mike and Rose Biondi.

Dick and I lived in the same neighborhood. He dropped out of sight when he exited WLS-FM years ago. I was told his health was deteriorating for some time. A true legend. RIP Mr Biondi. Sympathies to Connie Szerzen (they were close friends) and Dick's family.

SHAME on the Sun-Times. Putting a block on an article unless you sign up for their morning newsletter, for an Obituary article? Really, data collection to read a column for someone that was a celebrity that died? I have never been critical of either Chicago print papers, but #### them. Total BS and terrible move. They deserve their decline due to things like this. I do buy the paper very often, at its insane price, but after this. Nope. Done. Sorry for hijacking the topic, but it is uncalled for.

I agree, it drives me crazy when newspapers block readers from obits - and most of them are guilty: Sun-Times, Trib, Daily Herald, etc.

Mike, the Tribe did it too. Big ass workup on Facebook in a post.... PAYWALL! The Trip was a total paywall, where the ST was a grab for data mining. Either way, SHAMEFUL! Their painful end will be well deserved, but I feel bad for the plebe (non management) workers which will suffer the most.
