The Mix wasted NO TIME! Lol, they are running TV ad's dropping artist names and voiced their AM drive jock.
As crappy as “The music you’ve always loved and the best of what’s new” B96 is, Hubbard is eyeing them as a major competitor or are they trying to pick off some of the refugees that do not like the new direction?
WTMX plays way more new music than B96 does. Both are targeting people in their 30s and 40s now it seems. So yes, they are in competition.
Had 103.5 on earlier, they were blasting Dirty Little Secret by All-American Rejects, which is 18 years old. I graduated the year that came out and I just turned 36. Seems even the remaining CHR station is trying to go after an older audience. I also heard The Fray - How To Save A Life from 17 years ago and Eminem - The Real Slim Shady which is 23 years old now.
They're pretty much all giving up on younger listeners and competing with each other. They probably see B96 trying to lean older as a minor threat.
