Listening to the WQHT-DB weekly show called "American Dance Trax Flashbacks" archived on SoundCloud, they feature a playlist that week between 1986 to 1993 from the legendary NYC dance radio station Hot 97 & Hot 103.5

This week the host, "Big T" aka Walter Tomasheski interviews the one and only Freestyle giant Stevie B. (Link below, 1st part of the interview is around 30:00). Stevie B is throwing shade on the nonsense of today's Hip Hop and how no one under 40 is listening to radio [How many times have I said that on here?]. That is why radio is missing the boat on classic dance and freestyle.

The whole show is worth listening to. Great B96 and other dance hits are to be heard. Actually the WQHT-DB stream on TuneIn is my main go to these days. Johnny Palumbo, Big T, voice dude no other than Harry Legg from Energy 927&5 along with all the others involved are offering a solid, commercial free stream and all the old B96 listeners should listen to it and friend their fan page on Facebook.

90% of what I listen to is the Hot 97/103 tribute stream. It is amazing. Classic B96 listeners would love it! Wish someone would just put this stream on the actual B96 tower. If over 40 is listening, then broadcast some classic beats!

I mean, classic rules the radio dial these days and NO CLASSIC DANCE??? In Chicago of all places? I gave up hope for radio a long long time ago.

No, there is no hope for radio. None. While you have more than one station chasing the same demo and same format.

But you do have Jamz which is pulverizing the same crap over and over. You would think before B96 was on their hip hop bender that there was no format at all.

Dance music has always looked upon like a bastard child. The trend continues even if the format garnered Top of the ratings status and billing back in the day.
