That is awesome. Of course iHeart had no comment. An end user (legally) scraping their website using (most likely) Python language to accumulate the data, iHeart does not want you to know.

Well, it looks like they finally got the message that a lot of listeners do NOT want "Baby It's Cold Outside" in heavy rotation.

Maybe the ubiquitous-ness of "Carol of the Bells" had to do with background stories in various media about its Ukrainian origins. So it sort of became the "Do They Know It's Christmas" (thankfully in low rotation now) of 2022.

ChiTownGal, I actually enjoyed Wink Martingale's Top100 Christmas songs that they were looping all day long on MeTV-fm. Great mix of music with Wink's commentary and background on some of the songs.

I have listened to Wink's countdown for the past few years - can't figure out if it's just a rerun or if he does revise the material every year. So nice to hear the more obscure material that WLIT refuses to play.

Speaking of WLIT - even though Christmas was "officially" celebrated on Monday December 26th (and New Year's on January 2), the un-wise men and women at the helm switched to the regular format on that day. Bah humbug!

ChiTownGal, he revises it every year. I thought the same thing. Looking back, the positions have changed and newer material that is only a year old was heard on the countdown. He just REALLY sounds good at 89 years old!

I agree with you totally on the WLIT deal. I thought the same thing. Anyone recognize Eastern Orthodox Christmas on Jan 7???? C'mon WLIT, 1 more great day of ratings! :-)

I think the Orthodox people are pretty much resigned to the fact that their Christmas and Easter holidays are mostly an "afterthought" to the Western celebrations. However. This year many Ukrainian Orthodox at home and abroad celebrated on December 25 as an "in your face" gesture to the Russian Orthodox Church.
