HEARTMEDIA AC WLIT (93.9 LITE FM) was fully invested in the holiday spirit as it made the change towards the end of the NOVEMBER survey. The station reaped dividends as it more than doubled its previous 6+ share (6.0-12.4) as it stood alone at #1. Last year WLIT had an 11.8 share. HUBBARD Classic Rock WDRV (97.1FM THE DRIVE) stepped down to #2 with its smallest share since MARCH (6.0-5.4). iHEARTMEDIA Urban AC WVAZ (V103) was back at #3 (5.1-5.3), while AUDACY News WBBM-A repeated at #4 (4.8-4.9). AUDACY AAA WXRT stepped up to #5 (4.2-4.1) and narrowly defeated HUBBARD Hot AC WTMX (101.9 THE MIX), which was up two slots to #6 with its best book in exactly a year (3.8-4.0). TELEVISAUNIVISION Regional Mexican WOJO (QUΙ BUENA 105.1) had its smallest share since JULY (4.4-3.7) as it dropped into a tie at #7 with WBEZ ALLIANCE N/T WBEZ (4.0-3.7). WLIT had a massive cume influx to remain #1 in that category. The station was up a whopping 36.8% (1,411,900-1,932,100). The market rose by 1.0%.
To the surprise of no one, WLIT rose to #1 25-54 and more than doubled its previous share. This ended the eight-book winning streak for WOJO, which slipped to #2 with its lowest score since JULY. Usually, the sounds of MARIAH CAREY are detrimental to WTMX. However, the station bucked the odds and moved up to #3 with its best book in over a year. WXRT stepped down to #4 with its first down book since APRIL. WVAZ rebounded from a down book to advance three spaces to #5. WBEZ slipped to #6 and was tied with AUDACY Rhythmic AC WBMX (104.3 JAMS).
Were sensing a trend here. WLIT more than doubled its previous 18-34 share as it moved from a tie at #3 to #1. AUDACY Country WUSN (US99) was up for the third book in a row as it rose from #5 to #2. WOJO snapped a two-book winning streak and dropped to #3. WDRV dipped to #4, despite a small increase, while iHEARTMEDIA Urban WGCI stepped up to #5 with its highest mark in over a year. CUMULUS Classic Hits WLS dropped five spots to #7.https://www.allaccess.com/net-news/archive/story/224241/research-director-inc-ppm-exclusive-december-22-an
Can someone tell me why WLS-FM would be #2, dropping to #7 18 - 34, when their average listener should be on the upper end of the 25 - 54 demo? It just indicates how sick and not normal the market has become.
Jeremy, it is not 100%, but they VT more of the material than you think. Was going on since Peck was at the station. Most of the time the latter part of his show was totally tracked.
In a way, it makes sense. For a long time now, 94.7 has been less personality, more PPM-ish during a lot of shifts. VTing some of that would let the talent do other things they need to do
