104 Jams has run out of steam. I do not understand why they haven't shifted it elsewhere (not format change just a tweak toward another format) yet. The music is stale. The production sounds the same since Day #1. A few I spoke to do not understand why they won't dig back to the non hip hop dance hits. (I personally hope they never do this for a variety of reasons). Because when you have tools on the local and national level working for Audacy, they don't see it. I know Todd sees it, but he is a yes man, that would never disobey corporate or even utter anything out of what they are parroting should occur. That is how he has kept his job for this long when others have been cut off at the knees for no good reason. |
B96 is a shell of what it once was. Audacy has the audacity to keep running it like a 2nd rate ##### on a street corner until she drops. There is nothing to differentiate it from KISS, which even being run on the cheap sounds better. It is just a half hearted attempt to keep it limping along. Embarrassing. CBS radio would have never let this happen. I have said this before, 5, 7, 10, 15, 2 years ago, either KISS, MIX or B96, or 2 of them, would have skewed and niched the format to "own" something.
Bottom line, this is the beginning of the end with nationalization and merging duties even further for on air shifts and management. Last one turn the lights off.
