Seriously, is this how we have devolved for radio/entertainment content? This is a daily thing. I do not remember seeing headlines or promos on the radio in the past when I was a kid and young adult. Unbelievable.

It’s just common entertainment gossip and news. Clickbait. Nothing unusual. The real problem is I honestly don’t believe a lot of the 18-34s are reading much E-Mail so it’s probably just winding up in the spam filters anyway. Might get some people to visit the websites if they do. That’s about it.

I'm old.I love the Top 40/CHR formatics.
Seriously, does anyone in Montana or New Jersey care about these "celebrities" puking on a sidewalk or shaving their heads? Ryan Seacrest is a media darling and in my opinion, who cares?

The station is never promoted. Just something you saw yesterday, as so much is voicetracked.

"Young formats are not the future, as of now."
People not having kids? Demographics? "At-work listening?" I see songs on the charts 20-30 weeks. New songs every 3 weeks.
Never saw CHR so bad!

Billie Eilish is a big deal. Modern Rock radio is really where she got her start. A lot of her music tends to blend in more with the Alternative and AAA formats, but CHR has steadily picked up her songs as her fanbase got bigger. If she was changing the color of her hair, a lot of her fans very much would want to know.

BTS (A South Korean Boyband) has overzealous fans (BTS Army) that literally flood radio stations with some requests. Only until now with their first English hit, they are now getting airplay on CHR across the board. If the radio stations had some good gossip or a real interview, that fanbase would read it.

Sorry to inform you, but Billie Eilish did not need radio at all. Radio eventually needed her. JuShe became a huge star by way of mouth, and social media. Radio *finally* jumped on her, when they realized how insanely popular she was.

Actually it is not. You really don't understand the system. YouTube is where people can consume free music. In turn the concert ticket prices have exploded because the physical/digital purchase platform has collapsed. You do not see YouTube sponsoring a majority of concerts. The big name stalwarts still do it, iHeart, Entercom, SXM, etc. But, it can & will change at some point in the future. Right now, it is not the case.

National TV used to be the "go to" to advertise, reach the masses. Still does, especially national sporting events on netwrok TV is one example. Not as much as it used to. One day it will not as it keeps getting fragmented. Same thing with concert sponsorships, which takes deep pockets, publicity and mass (not fragmented) audiences.
