Just like the sexist remark, he’s implying that there is favoritism because it’s a black station. What a skunk.

No surprises here. Also these numbers are 6+.

DOWN: WLIT. WTMX. Both 1 share + each. On the spoken side: WBBM News. 1 share.

UP: WVAZ 2.6 share. NEWSWEB. 1 share.

V103 is a strange bird. It is probably one main reason iHeart does not bring any type of rhythic oldies (aka WBMX/B96) as it would eat into this station even just a bit. WVAZ shares a LOT of Spanish listeners and even some White. This is also an election year (less than 2 months when the survey started). People of color get serious about elections and while V103 is music and not talk, listen to their breaks, their programming. It is not like any other station in Chicago. (Still can't believe they are syndicated at night. Just shows how ####ed up radio is).

We also have to remember that there is a pandemic across this country. People are tired of hearing about it on the news, so the drop off is expected. It is afflicting people of color most. Some of those numbers are people of color going back to music programming notably V103.

You will see other strange monthly movements until things become more calm as time goes by. We need to see if this lasts or drops back to normal levels next month and the following month too.

V103 super serves it’s community with the resources it has (iHeart, Limited) I’ve known people of all races who listened to V103 over the years. The adult African-American population is the majority of this station’s audience. They might listen to WSRB for R&B and Adult (Grown folks) music if they’re in range but V103 is the big station. 1390 WGRB compliments V103 for those who are more Religious or prefer Gospel. iHeart has a top notch Urban operation in Chicago, and I strongly believe V103 is the best of all of them.
