Entercom Announces Ten Corporate Promotions & Addition Of VP/News

Quite interesting for a company that just had to lay off and cut salaries.....suddenly is doing well?? Well enough to promote over 10 people and I'm assuming hand a decent pay raise for their new titles!!

In an internal memo, Entercom CEO David Field has announced the promotions of ten executives today with the following rising to these new titles:

Chris Ebbott: Vice President, Programming

Chad Fitzsimmons: Senior Vice President, Promotions & Experiences (was VP/Music Initiatives)

Rose Isard: Vice President, Senior Counsel (was Senior Counsel)

John Kennedy: Senior Vice President, Engineering (was VP/Technical Operations)

Jennifer Morales: Vice President, Corporate Communications & PR (was Senior Director of Corporate Communications)

Nancy Muir-Gaire: Vice President, Facilities Management (was Director of Facilities Management)

Johnny Palumbo: Vice President, Senior Counsel (was Senior Counsel)

Reggie Rouse: Vice President, Programming

Jeff Sottolano: Executive Vice President, Programming

Stephanie Taylor: Vice President, Benefits, Compliance and Talent Acquisition (was Director of Benefits/Compliance/Talent Acquisition)

This is why I have called Entercom and other companies prostitutes. Also worse than drunken sailors.

Entercom is the worst. Lets furlough workers and we will really save money by cutting overnight traffic reports and for example pretend we care reporting a massive interstate pileup and hour after it happened! Now we know it was to fund executives that really need a raise. Totally justifiable. (sarcasm)

It appears as though there is no programming talent in market #3 at Entercom. Not breaking any news here but a pretty sad commentary.

"NotChicago". US99 is running on autopilot. Also no AM drive in place. B96 is a wreck. Jams is under performing. You are right, super sad.

I looked at the l o n g list of people from Chicago-Milwaukee-Madison(WI) and wow! There were a lot. For years/decades these people (IE: human beings) were there. In addition, furloughs and, of course, pay cuts. For what? Yea team!

I wrote a few months ago, I was done with 'BBM, and I am. Why in the Hell should I listen to 2am news repeated at 4am. They are telling me there and then, I don't have to listen at 4am! The temperatures, etc. are not current.

The tossing of traffic overnights is pure bull.
Traffic in an area of 9-10 million people seems a no brainer. But not to the "format captains" of the "almighty."

The spot loads after they moved sports to :16 & :46, stocks at :23 & :53 are horrendous! (Easily 4 minutes worth at times.)

They lost me and I'm not coming back. How 'bout all the Illinois cars going to Wisconsin and listen for news, hometown info, or coming back to listen to traffic and weather! 780AM carries to Green Bay easily! At night, in the UP, it is a clear signal.

Pretty soon, these people will only control 15 disc jockeys, nationwide. Kinda sad.

Too, I think of those let go a few weeks ago from 'BBM. THEY (decades long employees) were sacrificed, so the pigs can have more at the troth, in my opinion.

I’m telling you now. And it may not happen for a year or two but entercom is looking to sell off some Chicago stations and you may laugh but cumulus who’s in much better shape will be the buyer or at least manage them. What’s happened with 104.3’ and 99.5’has hurt them. Wasn’t so long ago 99 was second to bbm market wide for billing. Think about that cash is king . mismanagement Has hurt them more than the entercom purchase.

Sal someone here mentioned the AM's might be on the block too. I would not dismiss it due to the increase cost to run them (land, equipment, electricity etc) and the gradual dying off of AM band.

It would make sense the score can move to 104.3, keep news at 105.9. The big questions are what happens to B-96 and 99 the rumor is for an all female AM show at 99 but.. they can’t afford a morning “show” they are in critical territory with a rash of mistakes made. How can anyone bring a morning show in that lasts 10 months and keep a job? Two heritage stations in B 96 an US 99 have a real chance of going away. Lots to think about while the jocks are VT 6 hour shows. Money can still be made at these stations but without marquee talent what advertisers will be on board once the rona dies down. These problems have been a long time coming. They actually should hire Zimmerman back as market manager.
