Casey Kasems American Top 40 played on any station in Chicago?

Found this site on Google. Does any station in Chicago play the classic Casey Kasem American top 40 countdown 70s and 80s? I can't find it. Thanks Emma.

Stream KOSF Sundays 8am-12pm Pacific to hear an entire show from a specific year in the 80s.

Yes. It actually runs every Sunday 10AM - 2PM CST & 10PM - 2AM CST. Say "Google play KOSF" or listen to the web (link below) or download the IHeart radio app.

KOSF is the best Mainstream pop "all" 80s station to listen to if you don't mind commercials and want to hear jocks (even though they are chocking on short PPM liner cards). The jingles and production is awesome. They also have a commercial free option on the iHeart radio app.

Chicago flat out sucks, especially WLS-FM as a classic hits station. Just trying to lick WDRV's ass and be a second preset hit.

You can also listen to a random playlist of all the Casey Kasem AT 40 shows on the iHeart radio app via WMMX HD2 Dayton. Or say "Google Play Classic American Top 40 on iHeart radio".

The 70s version also airs weekends commercial free on Sirius XM 70s on 7 if you have a subscription. I think it’s on at 11am on Saturday. They dropped the 80s version years ago and replaced it in house with the “VJ Big 40 countdown.”

WVLI-FM, 92.7 Kankakee plays AT 40 the 70's on Saturdays from 3pm - 6pm. They also play AT 40 the 80's also on Saturdays starting at 6pm. The station is online and streaming if you are not within listening range. A nice, local refreshing sounding station compared to big corporate radio! Nice mix of music as well.

If you travel enough over the years across America, many of us probably have made notes of nice sounding stations compared to researched/corporate sounding stations. (Another great one is WDOR-FM and AM, serving the great Door County, WI and beyond.) That might be a cool thread to start sometime... "refreshing radio stations vs. Chicago and corporate radio stations".

Listening to kosf now. Great tunes. Fun station. Bon Jovi, Whispers, New Order, Kylie Minogue Locomotion. Haven't heard that one in years! Seems like lot of late 80s songs.

WLS-FM used to carry both 1970s and 1980s versions, but dropped them quite a while ago. WQSR in Baltimore (102.7 Jack FM) carries the 80s version every Sunday night, and the station is on the iHeartMedia app. AT40 celebrated its 50th anniversary just last weekend.

You mean there is more than playing just worn out rock tracks? Could have fooled me listening to WLS-FM. The sad thing is, KOSF on air production and presentation is worlds above WLS-FM, even if their jocks are limited and can barely crack the mic.

Their ratings are not that great in their market, but their stream is out of this world in TSL and cume. The reason they launched the station was because it was their #1 stream on their app, leaving #2 far behind. Martha Quinn (MTV) is their AM drive and she podcasts like crazy. Just interviewed Stephen Pearcy from RATT. Was awesome.

If you’re close enough to the border, 95.7 WRIT (95-7 BIG FM) runs the 80s version on Sunday mornings. I usually catch some of it.

Milner has a nice little station down in my area with 92.7 The Valley. They do a good job connecting with the community while also playing a wide selection of music from as far back as the late 1950s through about 2005 or so. My wife says that she likes the folks on the air, they’re always upbeat. To me they seem knowledgeable, the morning show doesn’t try to be “fake funny” and even when they run local promos they keep them short enough so you don’t reach for the tuning button. And, yes, AT-40 on Saturday.

My only beef, which the station has little control over, is that the new translator on 92.7 in Gary whacks off a chunk of what used to be a clear signal toward the stations’ Northeast. I assume that my FCC complaint did nothing, especially now with COVID dampening much of their operations.

2 stations one being a translator on the same frequency that close. Wow. I would call the station ask who the engineer is and forward them your complaint.

Yes lot of the Federal offices are cutback due to Covid.

Some signals from around there (especially Power 92) easily make it up to I94 corridor between Milwaukee and Kenosha. For ham I hear a lot of 220 and 2 meter activity repeaters and simplex like locals often. Has to do with the lake acting as a ground plane.

Another notorious example of translator chaos garbage is W240DE-FM 95.9, and WERV-FM 95.9. Coverage map is not accurate. Used to easily listen to The River through Arlington Heights, Schaumburg, Hanover Park. No more! Miles and miles of garbage between the two until eventually one of them wins out depending on what way you are going. What's the positive / benefit?!?

95.9 is a really jammed up frequency. There is a religious translator broadcasting from Cedar Lake, IN along with WEFM in Michigan City. Not sure if it’s actually on but I though WMBI AM had a translator on 106.3 from Addison which would cause WSRB trouble.

Positive it was 93.9. Not sure about that schedule on their website but I know it was 93.9 Chicago because i heard A commercial about a money giveaway they were doing recorded by Melissa Forman and then a lite fm jingle followed by a Casey kasem intro. He was counting down the biggest hits from the 70s. Maybe it was a special one time show but it was definitely on WLIT.

WLIT airing was announced as a one time special because it was the 50th anniversary of AT40.

I just heard the DJ on WLIT talking about Casey on this coming Sunday at 7am. This weekend it’s a special Beatles countdown hosted by Casey.
