wbez still airing 'sound opinions' but no longer producing it

Although it no longer will be produced by Chicago Public Media, “Sound Opinions” will continue as an independent production airing on WBEZ and distributed to about 150 other public radio stations nationwide. It also will continue as a weekly podcast.

Jim DeRogatis had this to say on his Facebook page,"Just going indie, we won’t miss a beat!"

Doesn't seem to matter to him.

The 12 people fired at WBEZ is beyond sad.

Jerry, the donations will be reduced due to the economy and Covid. Even more so, the Feds are giving no money to the states due to the pandemic and it is trickling down.

When you are presented with having no money to do Covid tracing or fund public radio, it is obvious which will get the ax first. Sadly, I think you will see more cuts and more automated programming going forward.
