I'm a South Suburbanite and didn't familiarize myself with the North Suburbs until 2009, when I first discovered 1330, 1430, and the Russian-block (then a few years old) on 1240/1470. Polish, Lithuanian, Irish, mix (Hispanic), and Middle Eastern dominate where I live. |
Furthermore, in the area near and north of O'Hare (to about Deerfield) is the target area for those stations (1240, 1330, 1430). Yes, West Rogers Park and nearby is diverse (not just South Asian, like further east).
It is absolutely fun to hear 1330 and 1430, while driving up or down the Tri-State (signal grows/weakens going to or from the North). Made a few visits to parks up there and love the area (wish I could move there).
There is a Greek program (currently, the only one I can think of that serves the metro area). It is on weekdays, from 6-10 or 11 AM.
