WWME 23, WMEU 48 & Pixelation

Has anybody noticed that the lack of a signal from CH 23 & 48? This has been going for a good week.

Ch 23 and all sub-channels are on but with Pixelation. Channel 48 is no longer on my TV but I do have a blank Channel 18.5 which is the CBS 2 signal via WMEU.

On a number of occasions WRJK if the signal is dealing with pixelation will mix with WTTW.

Have anybody seen this?

These stations are all low power so reception can be iffy anyway. However, they were affected by the flood at Sears Tower so maybe things aren’t 100% yet. I’m sure Weigel getting WCIU to 100% was top priority.

I don’t believe everybody is back up to full power yet. On the radio side, The Entercom signals were still on the Aux site on Belmont as of last night. iHeart, WLS-FM and WFMT returned to normal sometime on the 24th. Guessing some work still needs to be done.

I have not been having any issues with the WMEU-CD signal since it signed back on after the flood. I can’t speak for pixelation on WWME 23.X because it’s always just a hair below adequate to lock video for me (although it remains just strong enough to snag the PSIP info).

There was some peculiar tropo ducting/enhancement over the past few days, I had WCIA 3.1 Champaign, WDJT CBS58 and WTMJ “Today’s TMJ 4” Milwaukee a couple times, and I am 37 miles directly south of the Loop. Now that the FCC repack put some adjacent-market stations on same-channel allocations with lower power stations, it is possible an out-of-towner was causing interference.
