(this is concerning FM!)
Another I cannot find was saying how they wanted to push people into podcasts. If I can find it, will post.
""My biggest fear is there is a move by corporations to take ALL the radio and TV off of free wireless and going data. Well, WTF you do when we are being invaded (mass communication) or the WHOLE data grid is taken down by error, the government or otherwise?""
A) I don't trust the government.
B) While retired, most (not all) my bosses were idiots. Who is pushing what agenda?
"Tons of commercials. Minimal staff doing 200 jobs, voice tracking 200 stations, no creativity etc. Or on the bird. Why bother when you can stream or load 30,000 MP3 songs on a flash drive? Might as well if you will not be hearing a live voice talk TO you, not AT you on the radio."
While never in radio, I was/am a dx'er, have jingles, my own studio, follow hot clocks...read:a total radio geek. Airchecks that I cannot find, but are BURNED into my memory! I still can remember KDWB with 8 MINUTES of ads!!!! Twice an hour!!!!!
(Now, during the 16 minutes per hour, they could easily track, say wrong call letters/slogan, run 1-2 day old forecasts, have EVERY OTHER break say "follow us on FB, like us..." and a few breaks with NO CALLS!!!!!!!!!!, etc.)
(Too, have one company run 5 FMs with the purpose of 4, being to flack the good one!)
What ever happened to being/giving your best???
And the pay has tanked!!!!! But do more!
Oh ya, they name you a Format Captain!!!!!
"Good hearing/seeing from you John!"
Back at 'cha, Z!
Good hearing/seeing from you John!
