I would like to apologize for discussing Chicago radio on a Chicago radio forum. I was way out of line. Next time I will comment on rainbows and puppy dogs. It was inappropriate of me to quote from FCC documents and evaluate comments the son of the owner made regarding the operation of the radio station. You sound like a fine person and someone I am sure he is happy to have represent his company. |
Reading comprehension is a skill and Iím sure you havenít mastered it yet, but I have previously posted that I was very close friends with the original licensee of that frequency (they passed away many years ago) and have extensive knowledge about things such as their antenna system, technical limitations and other issues. That was not the original tower site for the facility, it moved there after losing its lease on its original property which was at Spring and Butterfield roads in Elmhurst. If you would like to know anything about the way the ground system is laid, the towers were moved, easements which do or do not exist, I could try to explain it to you but it might be too difficult for you to understand. Judging by your well thought-out comments it is obvious that I canít compare with your vast expertise. As a lifelong resident of Chicago and someone who continues to work in the business in the market, I like to see broadcasters succeed and be good stewards of their FCC license. There are many successful suburban radio stations such as WRMN, WBIG, WOPA, etc. People who are smart operators can be very successful. However, your friend opened himself up for criticism when he posts an endless stream of videos promising to get people tremendous results if they work with him, yet canít generate enough money to even keep a small radio station on the air. If any other radio station in town operated in the same manner they would be subject to the same criticism.
I am sure all the other folks who post on this site will agree with you and not post any honest criticism of any radio stations in the market. You have taught us all a very valuable lesson. I would like to discuss this further but I must now go to a restaurant review board and comment on how every meal I have ever had at every restaurant has been fantastic and the chefs and owners are all incredible people who do an amazing job. Then I am going to go catch a movie that has received terrible reviews because the critics must all be very bad people with some type of personal vendetta against the movieís producer. But first I hear Mom calling from upstairs so itís time for me to get out of the basement and do my homework for math class tomorrow.
