There's nothing unusual about B96, it's simply stuck with bad pop music. It has PPM Market Top-40 radio written all over it. Voltair distortion, dry segues, generic delivery. 103.5 is the same, just different morning shows, and "iHeartRadio this" "iHeartRadio that" instead of "Radio.com this" "Radio.com that" |
WLIT will stay "93.9 LITE FM" No apparent use of the "Breeze" branding. The music will be just be different. I consider this a smart move. Reasoning: Heritage. Familiar on Christmas. Easy to adjust if the music change does not work.
Since iHeart is parking The Breeze brand specifically to prevent Entercom from using it, it will either stay in use on 103.5 HD2 with the format, giving us two Gold-based Soft AC stations or it will probably shift over to the nameless Smooth Jazz format (Currently on 95.5 HD2)
If Big 95.5 bills enough, it stays. If the market manager likes it and that market manager can make that decision, it will probably stay. If they can package sell it and convince corporate that it's worth keeping, it will stay. Since Bobby Bones is on there and it gives the show major market clearance, that's a good reason to keep it.
In Milwaukee, iHeart now has 2 Sports stations. One on AM (WOKY), and WRNW on FM since last month. The ratings on the AM are terrible. Always in the 0s. There's 4 other Sports stations in that market, ratings are not all that great on any of them. 0s, 1s, not much more. But they make money, and if they don't, they have a convincing reason to keep them going because ratings are not it. This might be the case with Big 95.5. Something else could be turning a profit for them. I can only throw guesses around.
100.3 may be a flanker, but they are now the lone Mainstream AC in the market. They could build on that.
