I think that's a BIG reason why WLS-AM 890 didn't air White Sox & Bulls' games beyond the first couple of years of what was supposed to be a 5 year deal with the Cumulus-owned news/talk station in 2015. Cumulus Media's bankruptcy was so bad back then that it forced "The Big 89" to terminate their contracts with Jerry Reinsdorf's 2 pro sports teams in 2018.

Cumulus also had what's called an LMA or a Local Marketing Agreement with the former WLUP-FM 97.9 as well as WKQX-FM 101.1 if I recall.

Cumulus Media's Chapter 11 was so bad, they couldn't purchase The LOOP and Merlin Media ended up selling 97.9 FM for $21.5 million to convert into K-Love's Christian music format and it's been that way ever since.
