I have a story along those lines as well if you just scroll down a little further.

It seemed like just yesterday, or about 2 weeks ago, when Jarrett Payton signed off as sports anchor at WGN 9 and "GN Sports GameNight" seemed to resemble the old Ralph Edwards show "This Is Your Life" when Kaitlin Sharkey appeared to start crying at the end of the show for her teammate & co-worker.

This isn't a knock at Payton either, who was also a regular contributor on what's temporarily called "SCORE Mornings" during football season. I get the sense this is a bit of a letdown with the official announcement scheduled for later today.

At the same time, I was under the impression that David Haugh's CHSN teammates Ruthie Polinsky and/or Clay Harbor as well as Gabe Ramirez would be first in line to replace Mike Mulligan after 23 years at the Audacy-owned sports talk, Cubs & Bulls' Radio flagship. After all, all 3 of these names had filled in for Mulligan and/or Haugh in recent months.

Interestingly enough, Polinsky sat in for Mulligan one day last week and Harbor sat in with Ramirez this morning on 104.3 FM The SCORE. I'm not sure that will be the short term plan until the new show officially debuts.
