I hope I am around so I can see the reaction to those that don't or refuse to get it, when Audacy or iHeart beam 1 feed via IP on Sports using a shoestring staff and AI generated content replacing human opinion, to feed you their narrative on current sports. They can then "break away" locally spot casting from the IP feed, using geolocating, to air a local sporting event. Or worse off, charge you for it as premium content. As long as they are linear (broadcast) on AM/FM, they can't do this. They turn off linear and rely on IP, they can do it and a lot more, for a lot less and the most watered down offering you can imagine.
Mark my words, Jarrette Payton show will be syndicated before you know it. It will be a cash grab to save more money companywide. He is a known brand name outside of Chicago. Look around how many of the Audacy talent is syndicated. How much of B96 now and when JAMS was around was actually live and local? US 99? Look at how NewsRadio Chicago has been castrated. Look at the joke between LA and SF sharing and simulcasting News between 2 different towns. What makes the Score exempt from this formula? Or any other Audacy sports station for that matter.
