You read that right. I was rolling down Randall Rd South from Algonquin. WMXT popped in w/ RDS. 5 minutes enough to hear Def Lepard. I STILL can't believe it. Total of 737.39 mi.
On 94.9 there were several stations cycling, could not identify any of them except when WBKB DeKalb took over.
95.9 there was a retro Pop Urban signal with jingles, no clue kept coming in for 10 seconds and fading out to a dead carrier.
95.1 Will Rock being obliterated by a several stations including a pop CHR, another station playing House music. (Not the Streetz)
95.7 the Milwaukee oldies station is a local on my cheap 20 dollar Chinese SW handheld when I walked in the house.
99.9 is WYTZ from Western Michigan, local sounding.
Also the elusive 6 meter ham band is open. My friend made several contacts within a few minutes, but like the FM broadcast band
stations are cycling in every few seconds to a few minutes. Be persistent.
