Pat Hughes has called a lot of innings in his broadcast career. A decade ago, he underwent 3 surgical procedures to his vocal cords. He has the same vocal condition as The Who’s Roger Daltrey.

As a radio broadcaster, that’s not good when you can’t speak. I think what happened is that Hughes is having vocal trouble. That may explain why Zach Zaidman has been doing more play by play over the last couple weeks on the Cubs Radio Network.

Needless to say, hope Hughes is okay & back to work ASAP.
