John, back in the day, when it was just a day, think AM radio + 80s & 90s FM power stations, jocks doing spots held weight because we KNEW the jocks. Lujack, Winston, Phillips, Steve & Gary, Eddie & JoBo, Brandmeir, etc... Outside of a few names these days, who gives 2 craps if a jock voices an ad? People are barely listening, hardly know the stations anymore and definitely do not know most of the jocks when consultants, owners and PPM limit them to 12 seconds of voice when the mic cracks open.
