A decade later, Cubs' games are still heard on The SCORE, but can also be heard on 104.3 FM in crystal clear stereo sound.
Come 6P-ish tonight, The SCORE takes Cubs' fans down memory lane by replaying 16 classic games from the 2016 title season as called by Pat Hughes & Ron Coomer.
Hughes will record intros to each of these Cubs' classics with afternoon co-host Matt Spiegel adding specific production elements for each of these games that'll start at 6P (CT) on selected nights when the current Cubs aren't playing that given night.
The first of the 16 "Cubs Classics" will air tonight on the Cubs Radio Network flagship as well as on the Audacy app. It's the 16-0 Cubs' shutout of the Cincinnati Reds from April 21, 2016 at the Great American Ballpark.
It was more than just a one-sided blowout win that night for the Cubs. This was the game in which Jake Arrieta threw his 2nd no-hitter in a Cubs' uniform. Arrieta threw another no-hitter the previous season vs the Los Angeles Dodgers on August 30, 2015 in a nationally televised game on ESPN's "Sunday Night Baseball" at Dodger Stadium.
Tonight's rewind is only the beginning. Here's a link of The SCORE's "Cubs Classics" schedule from that memorable 2016 season:
