Parkins still pays attention to Chicago's teams from afar as a regular guest on FOX 32's "Chicago Sports Tonight" as well as every week on his former radio station 670 AM/104.3 FM The SCORE on "The Rahimi, Harris & Grote Show".
On Thursday, May 21, Parkins comes home to host an event near & dear to him. The SCORE, parent company Audacy, along with Marquee Sports Network will all team up to air the 2026 "Cubs For A Cure Radiothon" starting at 10A (CT). For 24 straight hours, Parkins will be raising money for BrainUp, a non-profit charity dedicated to brain cancer & awareness. It's a charity that hits home for Parkins, whose brother Brad passed away from brain cancer.
The 3rd Annual "Cubs For A Cure Radiothon" hopes to raise $1 million in the fight against cancer. It'll be capped off by fundraising efforts that'll take place Saturday, May 23 when the Cubs host the Houston Astros.
Comments from Parkins, SCORE Director of Operations Mitch Rosen & Cubs' Vice President of Business Operations Crane Kenney regarding the Radiothon and related fundraising efforts associated with "Cubs For A Cure" can all be found here:
