While channel searching in northwest Indiana this afternoon I wanted to compare the AM signals of 950 (WSFS) and 1270 (WWCA) and 101.5 FM (W268DI). Near Michigan City 1270 and W268DI were unintelligible and 950 was breaking up, probably due to the storm.

Anyways, suddenly on 950 there was that loud service tone and the National Weather Service broke in with a thunderstorm warning. Now, when I had cable tv, that would occur. I cannot recall that previously on radio, but maybe I am getting old.
