That's a very good question. I think a couple of things would probably figure into the equation.

I think for some who have been at WBBM Newsradio 780 AM/105.9 FM for many years, they have either retired or have moved on. There were quite a few like morning co-anchors Felicia Middlebrooks, Pat Cassidy & veteran midday anchor Sherman Kaplan that I know retired many years ago. I'm not sure if some of the names were victims of corporate cutbacks by parent company Audacy within the last 5 years or so due to the pandemic.

The other thing to think about. I have noticed that evenings & weekends, WBBM utilizes a solo anchor instead of dual anchors like they do mornings through afternoon drive.
