Alan Mitchell of Longboat Key, FL passed away peacefully on September 16, 2025.

Born in 1943 in Harvey, IL, to Edith and Arthur Israel, Al was adopted by Arthur Mitchell in 1958 after his father passed away and mother remarried. Al grew up in Thompson, IA. He studied Radio and Television at Iowa State, worked as a DJ at the college station, and went on to a career in radio management in Minneapolis, Fort Wayne, and Pittsburgh before returning to Chicago as a rock and roll DJ, most notably at WBBM-FM. He later built a long and successful career in voice-over work before retiring to Florida in search of the perfect beach.
