I thought I was the ONLY one who once owned a car with a windshield antenna. What a piece of junk!

AM reception was horrible. When I asked a dealer why would you build an antenna within the windshield, the answer was for anti-vandalism.

I finally went into a Radio Shack and bought a metal antenna where the height could be adjusted. It did improve AM radio reception and FM to a point, as well. The issue was going through the car wash. Folding down the antenna didn't always work. Loved the car, a Pontiac Grand Prix, hated the windshield antenna.
