If you're old enough to remember when WSCR-AM was up the radio dial at 820 AM when the sports talk station was a "Sunrise to Sunset" outlet, perhaps you might remember a reporter by the name of Rory Spears.

He was part of The SCORE's staff for the station's first 5 years before branching out to other outlets as a free lance journalist. In recent years, Spears produced and hosted the seasonal show "Golfers on Golf", airing most recently on WNDZ-AM 750 for 2 decades. The Website expanded with "The Gog Blog",a play on the name of his weekend golf show.

Spears was found dead at his condominium Tuesday morning according to Arlington Heights Police. The cause of his death is unknown. Spears was in his 60s at the time of his passing.
