The new Chicago Sports Network has been on the air for 1 month now as the replacement for NBC Sports Chicago, and according to the Tribune's Robert Channick, it doesn't look as if the new multimedia outlet will be available on Xfinity systems anytime soon.
A Comcast spokesperson said that customers are being credited for the programming void in its first month, but they're not about to adjust now that the calendar has turned to November.
According to Channick's story, CHSN made 3 offers to Xfinity just before the Bulls' regular season opener in New Orleans October 23. The offers allowed for CHSN to be moved up to the provider's highest tier with a lower carriage fee than NBCSC. Comcast/Xfinity balked and rejected the offer earlier this week.
As a result, CHSN remains off the air for some 1 million Xfinity customers leaving many Bulls & Blackhawks' fans unable to watch their teams.
CHSN did reach a deal last week with Fubo TV, one of the nation's top streaming services. Fans can also watch the channel on DIRECTV, as well as DIRECTV Stream, RCN/Astound along with OTA stations in Chicago, Rockford, South Bend & Indianapolis when it launched October 1.
