"Boog" & his Marquee Sports Network teammate Doug Glanville called the NL Wildcard games on ESPN between the New York Mets & Milwaukee Brewers and then called the Mets/Phillies' NLDS & Mets/Dodgers' NLCS games on ESPN Radio.
Sciambi is on the call as well for the sports radio network's national presentation of the Dodgers/Yankees' World Series as well. He's joined in the booth this time by Eduardo Perez, one third of the "Sunday Night Baseball" broadcast booth, Jessica Mendoza & dugout reporter Buster Olney. They'll be on the call for Game 4 of the "Fall Classic" tonight at 7P (CT) on ESPN Radio nationally as well as on ESPN 1000 AM locally.
While "Boog", Jim Deshaies & Taylor McGregor are expected to resume their day to day duties calling Cubs' baseball again next season on Marquee, could "Boog" possibly get even more face time next season on ESPN's signature MLB package?
According to the New York Post's Ryan Glasspiegel, he believes that the "Worldwide Leader" should replace current PBP voice Karl Ravech in favor of Sciambi. Ravech, an ESPN veteran since 1993, has been the principal voice of baseball as a whole on ESPN for many years. Ravech replaced Matt Vasgersian 3 years ago as the voice of "Sunday Night Baseball". Glasspiegel believes that Sciambi's baritone voice is better than Ravech.
It also comes as ESPN is at a crossroads as an MLB broadcast partner, too. The network, which has aired MLB since 1990, has an opt-out clause after next season and it's unclear if ESPN will maintain its long relationship with the league beyond that.
I don't think you have to worry about a paywall, but Glasspiegel's column regarding "Boog" & "SNB" can be found here:
