Older women have no chance in modern media. There are some exceptions. For the most part, women in their 50s and beyond are going to be more susceptible to being cut. It's really shameful.

Violetta Podrumedic was a top traffic reporter among other things. The word comes down to cut, cut, and cut. The dumbing down of radio continues. I will bet WTMX-FM goes with a cheaper traffic service who has a reporter with half the talent of Violetta.

Many who are "released" tend to get a real estate license and earn a living that way.

Johnny Mars of WXRT-FM/93.1 has a real estate license and has been selling for a long time. Thankfully, he's still rocking at 'XRT.

Males can stay in media well into their 60s and beyond, but women, sadly, continue to be forced out way before them. I am referring to TV as well.
