When the Blackhawks played the Minnesota Wild in 2 NHL Preseason games, CHSN presented its scorebox vertically with the Blackhawks' famous logo on top & the Wild's logo on the bottom of the box. No big deal, right?
While it may have looked right, sort of speak, when the Hawks & Wild played in St. Paul, the same format happened when the 2 sides rematched a couple nights later at United Center. It also looked this way when the Hawks & Blues wrapped up the preseason Saturday in Milwaukee, even though the Hawks were technically the home team at Fiserv Forum.
One has to hope the Blackhawks and their new TV partner will correct it when the team makes its official regular season debut Friday in Winnipeg at 7P (CT).
The new scorebox made its debut Tuesday night when the Bulls & Cavaliers played an NBA Preseason game in Cleveland. While the Bulls may have won the warmup game, not every fan was thrilled with the vertical looking scorebox. The box seemed to obscure players at the top of the screen in addition to timeouts, fouls, time remaining and the score of the game.
You can see the new CHSN scorebox I'm referring by going to this link and judging for yourself:
