I recall suburban WYSY-FM 107.9 which played adult hits during the day and hard rock at night.

That was RPM (Real Precious Metal) by Scott Loftus. He was brokering time from the station after leaving WVVX 103.1 and until the station sold to a big corporation that brought on the 70s format.
