This morning, the Audacy-owned sports talk, Cubs & Bulls Radio Network flagship announced a pair of changes to its weekday sports talk lineup.
First, The SCORE moved Holmes off middays with Bernstein and paired him with Spiegel in afternoons instead. Then, former CBS 2 Sports Director Marshall Harris, who had been filling in since signing off the CBS-owned station in July, was announced as Holmes' replacement with Bernstein middays.
So what prompted the changes, you ask? A couple of things come to mind. One of them was news late last week that Jason Goff will NOT return to SCORE airwaves when contract talks reportedly fell through and Goff saying that Audacy wanted him to stop hosting his podcast on The Ringer.
The other part involved an incident involving Bernstein & Barstool Eddie from Barstool Sports. Barstool Eddie, you see, was among the fill-in hosts who sat in with Spiegel once Danny Parkins left about 3 weeks ago. Parkins is now one of the hosts of FS1's"Breakfast Ball" with Craig Carton & "NFL on FOX" analyst Mark Schlereth. Barstool Eddie referred to Bernstein by his last name, which didn't sit well with the veteran host since 1995.
As a result, SCORE management announced the changes. "Spiegel & Holmes" debuted this afternoon, while "Bernstein & Harris" officially premieres next Monday.
