Personality-driven radio that I remember has been long gone since Howard Stern bolted terrestrial radio for Sirius/XM Satellite Radio in 2006.
Started in 1995 (when multiple station under one owner began). It exploded when technology can have AI be a DJ. Oh wait, that is happening now...... But I can assure you terrestrial radio will tell you, we are still #1!!!!!!
