Alex Cohen, who has been the voice of the Cubs' Triple "A" Iowa team for 7 seasons on radio and occasionally on Marquee Sports Network the last 2 seasons, will be getting such a call himself.
It was learned this morning that Cohen will be on the call for 2 Cubs' games on Marquee, pinch hitting for Jon "Boog" Sciambi. Cohen will make his MLB broadcast debut Sunday afternoon when the Cubs face the Cardinals in St. Louis at 1:15P (CT). Cohen will work the game with Jim Deshaies & dugout reporter Taylor McGregor.
But wait...There's more. Cohen will also be on the call for the Cubs' first game after the All-Star break, a home game vs the Arizona Diamondbacks at Wrigley Field Friday, July 19 @ 1:20P (CT), also on Marquee. Needless to say, Cohen is very excited to be on the call for the 2 Cubs' games with the big club while "Boog" is away.
Cohen is also no stranger to Marquee. In addition to calling Iowa Cubs' games, Cohen has also called IHSA Football, specifically the Prep Bowl with former quarterback Henry Burris & sideline reporter Kacy Standohar.
