I'm referring to radio station bumper stickers in the year 2024. I think they have gone the way of the 8-track tape and the laser disc.
I rarely see a bumper sticker for any Chicago radio station these days.
Let me put it another way; I don't think anyone under 40 years old would even bother. The stakes would have to be pretty high.
As I mentioned in another thread, perhaps a contest.
Please allow me to veer off for a minute. I have heard of people who spend a great deal of time entering radio station contests. When the prize is cash and they win, it's off to the next station who is doing the same.
In a sense, it's almost like the radio station is paying for listener loyalty.
During the Z95 and B96 radio wars, I was amused when Z95 said they will do the listening of B96 and alert the Z95 audience when to call in and win. I miss those days of fierce competition.
I sometimes wonder what Z95 would sound like today is they were around. A bad crop of CHR music may push a station to rely on their older music library. Maybe a Hot AC format? We'll never know.
