Chris Vosters, who had been named 2 years ago as the successor to the retired Pat Foley, is out as the Blackhawks' TV voice. Vosters, who was filling in as guest co-host of Stadium Network's daily sports talk & pop culture show "The Rally" the last couple of weeks, will be replaced on Hawks' games this fall by a more established NHL broadcaster.
His name is Rick Ball, who had been the voice of the Calgary Flames for the last 10 seasons. Ball has also been an NHL broadcaster for much longer than that. Starting in 2011, Ball was the voice of SportsNet Canada's popular "Hockey Night in Canada" and was named the Western play by play voice in 2013.
Ball will be joined by former Blackhawk goalie Darren Pang, who will be back for his 2nd season as lead analyst & occasional "Inside the Glass" reporter this fall. Pang will also maintain his duties with TNT Sports as a national analyst again next season.
