Paul worked for WCIU, WGN Morning News Intern and was behind a lot of the signal upgrades like WDEK on 92.5, which pushed in the signal toward the city along 290, compared to before the upgrade. I recall discussing with him how the signal traveled further and how 92.3 might complain. He proceeded to explain and show me how the 92.3 signal was splattering and not within specs itself. He assured me they would never complain, they never did! He loved engineering and the media industry. Passed on way too young.

We lost an important member of the JET 24/FOX 66/YourErie.com team today. Our chief broadcast engineer Paul Strater passed away suddenly this morning at UPMC Hamot. He was 56 years old.
