If memory serves, it wasn't just Kevin Matthews, Bob Stroud, Patti Haze, Joe Thomas & Allan Stagg that spun the tunes on the old WXCD. They also had Mitch Michaels hosting weekends & pinch hitting during the week. Michaels also worked at the old 'CKG with Haze, Thomas & Stagg.
Scott Dirks, who was one of the production voiceovers with Matt Bisbee at the old WLUP-FM 97.9, was the Production Director at the old WXCD as well as when 94.7 became The Zone (WZZN) and their current identity at WLS-FM.
The old CD 94.7 also had Patti Peach, I'd like to say, as well as onetime Loop rock jock simply named Sari, who also hosted weekends. I also remember that they used to originate Saturday nights some 30 years ago at the old ESPN Zone downtown.
The music that CD 94.7 played was similar to 97.1 The Drive, but WDRV doesn't play that much of the '60s & early '70s...Unless Stroud does it Sundays on his "Rock 'n' Roll Roots" show.
