When WCKG-FM left the Classic Rock format, WXCD-FM literally hired nearly every DJ who worked at 'CKG.
Bob Stroud, Patti Haze, Allan Stagg, Joe Thomas and likely one or two others who don't come to mind.
In theory, the same format (Classic Rock) with the same heritage rock personalities. What went wrong and could this have been fixed?
I remember watching TV ads for CD94.7 and there was a lot of buzz. Was the music more finely tuned on the old WCKG-FM 105.9? WLUP-FM (The Loop) was a competitor during the run of both stations.
Was ABC too impatient to let the format grow?
Lastly, were consultants used? Weak programming?
