A parting gift? Very likely, but in the eyes of the
National Sports Media Association, now former White Sox & part time Bulls' TV voice Jason Benetti has been awarded the Association's Illinois Sportscaster of the Year for 2023. Something tells me that it won't be the last such honor for Benetti now that he's headed to Detroit to call Tigers' games this upcoming MLB season.

As for Illinois Sportswriter of the Year, the National Sports Media Association named The Athletic's Chicago Bears' beat writer Kevin Fishbain with the same honor.

Needless to say, congratulations to BOTH on winning this award.
