It's not designed to have an airstaff. The music and the liners do the talking.
Milwaukee has a very poor signaled 50s and 60s Oldies station, WRXS. It has higher ratings than several full market stations. It runs completely jockless.
I've noticed advertising on these stations rely less on ad agencies and more on local businesses, some of which are more than willing to run ads.
It's not that the audience isn't there. The older audience is actually more likely to be listening to radio than the younger audience. It's a sad fact but it's true.
